Our History

Where have we come from?

Wokingham Vineyard was started by Nino and Becky Moscardini as a new church plant out of Riverside Vineyard, Twickenham in September 1999. Nino and Becky had become part of the early Vineyard movement in the UK before locating in the USA at Triangle Vineyard, North Carolina. On their return to the UK they once more attended Riverside Vineyard until planting Wokingham Vineyard with their two boys: James and Joshua.

By Easter 2002 the church had grown from a small group of praying friends to a congregation meeting each Sunday. God's blessings continued and in July 2005 the church found itself moving to the larger premises of Edgbarrow School in Crowthorne.

To our great sorrow, a month after moving into Edgbarrow Becky lost her 10-year battle against cancer and went to be with the Lord. This was a hard time for everyone.

In September 2010 Nino married Debbie, celebrating with the whole church. Debbie has two girls, Emily and Sarah.

Sarah is studying for her A-levels, and Emily is a History Teacher. Emily is married to Nick, one of our Worship Leaders here at Wokingham Vineyard.

Having completed his Masters in Performance Coaching, Joshua is a Rugby Development Officer in Wales. James lives in Phoenix and is an Assistant Pastor at North Phoenix Vineyard USA.

Where are we now?

God has led Nino and Debbie through much and the church has successfully transitioned to a new phase in its journey.

Love, Compassion, Forgiveness and Acceptance being the heart of its vision. Nino and Debbie continue to pastor the church and can be met every Sunday as they take the stage to present the notices and announcements with their endearing blend of humour and seriousness.
