We believe that Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the Church: Water Baptism and the Lord's Supper (Communion). At Wokingham Vineyard both are available to all believers.
Communion at our church is taken once a month as a part of worship. This is a biblical practise, remembering that Jesus died for us and took away our sins. Communion is observed by the taking of bread and grape juice. There is space for an individual to take the bread and juice in their own time during worship and to reflect how they wish.
Water Baptism is seen in the bible, with Jesus himself being baptised by John the Baptist. Anyone who believes, is welcome to be baptised and we run courses to prepare individuals for this. We see baptism as a celebration of new life with Jesus. As a church our baptism services reflect this idea of celebration, whether this be in the form of a picnic, breakfast or a BBQ.
We also love Baby Dedications. This is where babies and small children are welcomed into the church family during a Sunday morning service and prayed for to grow up knowing Jesus in their lives.
